Happy Holidays

My, my how the time does fly!  I was on a Baltic cruise in September and I was in Toronto in October celebrating my "baby" brother's 50th birthday party.  In between my travels, I did manage to make a few critters and ornaments for the holiday season.

Highlights: the show at the Spiral Cafe on Craigflower in Victoria

Critters galore, just a sampling that were available at the Spiral Cafe, at Kali on Craigflower, at the Coast Collective in Collwood, and at the Two Hoots Gift shop in Cobble Hill:

Wee ornaments inspired from patterns by Ute Vasina, Allison Marano, and Paula McGee:

I participated in the Etsy Artisan Holiday PopUp show this past weekend as well!

Coast Collective Gift and Wishes (on until Dec 22 5pm, so there is still time to pick up a special hand made gift:

Finally, I will leave you with some travel photos:

A very Merry Christmas to all and a Happy, Healthy New Year.  See you in 2020!

First Chance Craft Show-Sidney BC

Once the doll show was over (October 21st), I could not rest as the First Chance Craft Show was just around the corner (November 3 and 4th).

This was my second year at this juried show in Sidney BC and it was great fun and quite successful.  My ornaments were almost all sold (no dogs or kitties left) and many of my wooly critters went to new homes.  I even sold some of my larger bears and folk art dolls.

Here are some photos of my booth:

Now I have to get busy and make more ornaments for the Coast Collective Gift and Wishes show which starts November 14th and runs to December 23rd!

Gingerbread Houses

Every year about this time, my husband and I go and see the gingerbread houses created by local bakers to raise money for "Habitat for Humanity".  (I do have to twist my husband's arm at times for this event to happen)

This year, the theme was "Canada 150" of course, and the gingerbread houses were displayed at a new venue, the Parkside on Humbolt St in Victoria (on until Jan 3rd I believe).

Admission is free and if you want to vote, you donate to Habitat for the privilege. Also they are selling gingerbread cookies and coffee for only $2.25 and the money goes to the cause.

Here are some of the wonderful houses:

I vote for this iconic entry, although it was tough choosing.
